Beyoncé’s birthday on September 4th should not only be commemorated as Beyoncé Day in Houston, but should also be recognized as a national holiday. Queen B turns 39 this year and it is important that we reflect on all that she has given us during her 30-plus-year musical career.

From her debut in Girls Tyme, right through to her stint with Destiny’s Child, we’ve always known Beyoncé to be a force to be reckoned with. She’s given us so much over the past 30 years: countless hit songs, gorgeous photo ops, and well-executed surprise visual albums.

There are so many things that make Queen Bey great. For starters, his 30-plus-year career is filled with record breaking accomplishments. She owns the NAACP Image Award 2019 for Artist of the Year, is the most nominated woman in Grammy story, and won 28 MTV Music Video Award.

For many, Beyoncé made the impossible possible. From her surprise releases to the way albums are packaged, she has set the standard for what artists can do to diversify their style and delivery of music to fans.

Beyoncé also uses her status to raise awareness about social issues. This year alone, she was able to help Houston by offering testing for the coronavirus in minority communities. The initiative provided free test kits, personal protective equipment, and household supplies to the Houston area. On top of that, proceeds from Beyoncé’s remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s song, “Savage,” went to the town’s Bread of Life organization.

The secret of all his achievements? Beyoncé is as charitable as she is fearless when it comes to her career. She does what other artists don’t want to do. She tests the waters with new ideas and never fails to give back.

Although I am not a musical genius, she inspired me to be the truest version of myself. She gives her fans an unwavering faith that empowers us all and makes us all believe in ourselves.

Beehive Bey is probably wondering what will happen to the music powerhouse. Is a new creative album on the horizon? Who knows. But in the meantime, let’s erect a statue of Beyoncé the size of the San Jacinto monument in the heart of Third Ward.

Because one day is not enough to encapsulate this strength of a woman.
