Cyclist killed in fatal collision on Audubon Drive

FRESNO, Calif. (January 27, 2022) – On Wednesday afternoon, a man was fatally struck in a fatal bicycle accident on Friant Road.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Crews responded to the scene near the intersection of Audubon Drive and Friant Road.

Reports said a man was riding away from Woodward Park on a “recumbent type bike”. As the driver of a truck was traveling south on Friant Road, he struck the cyclist as he attempted to turn west onto Audobon Drive.

Due to the impact of the collision, doctors later pronounced the male cyclist dead at the scene. Authorities only described him as a man in his 50s.

At present, other circumstances leading to the fatal accident are still under active investigation. Once available, more information will be provided.
