Bernard Law Group represents the victim of a hit-and-run bus accident that left her with life-changing injuries that will require lifelong medical attention.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, USA, Oct. 8, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Lawyers for Bernard Law Group, Kirk Bernard and Viivi M. Vanderslice, announced on Tuesday, September 28 that King County resident Jessica Chapel is suing King County Metro and one of the agency’s drivers in a hit-and-run bus accident that left him with a leg.

In March, a seasoned Metro driver drove her bus down a sidewalk and over the victim’s leg near the Renton Transit Center, where Chapel was lying on a sidewalk away from the street. After the accident, the driver got out of the bus to check the victim’s condition three times and called for help. However, she canceled the call for help as she walked away, leaving the victim helpless at the scene.

“In my 40 years of practice as a personal injury lawyer, I have never heard of such outrageous and egregious facts. The idea that a professional driver, a metro driver, could run a bus over a human being, then talk to him, leave him in a pool of blood, die, bleed, ”said Bernard.

“It’s unimaginable that she could do what she did, see what she saw, all those times she went back to see Jessica and walked away.” And not just leave, but cancel the only help available to him, ”Vanderslice added.

“It is expected that, both by King County and by law, she will have to stay on the premises, get help there, and then wait there until she is cleared to leave. by the police, ”she added.

The bus driver resigned during the investigation. She now faces hit-and-run charges and is expected to be tried later this year.

Chapel is suing in civil court to help pay for his medical bills.
